Self-assembled perfect absorber for laser-driven flyer

Abstract In this work, we experimentally demonstrate a high-performance laser-driven flyer (LDF) by introducing perfect absorber in the ablation layer to improve energy utilization efficiency, where is composed of silver nano-triangular array, dielectric layer, and film. The was realized simple low-cost colloid lithography technique, maximal absorbance can reach about 95% at 1064 nm under an optimization condition. in-depth electromagnetic simulation indicates that greatly beginning laser illumination, thus temperature pressure subsequently generated plasma. experiment, improved plasma used launch 25 µ m thick Al flyer, velocity measured using photonic Doppler velocimetry. A maximum speed 2140 ${\text{m}}\;{{\text{s}}^{ - 1}}$?> m s − 1 achieved which 1.3 times larger than (1650 ) pure ${\text{Al }}$?> Al foil flyers. extracted transient accelerated LDF owns higher 20 ns, especially for 5 ns. striking experiment flyers formed own averaged depth, some give depth 80 twice normal LDF. properties absorber, morphology have been systematically investigated.
